Buyer beware. This hotel has some seriously shady management practices. Was there on business. Had to leave town and come back the next day. So I checked out and tried to book for the following night. They had a room available but the desk said they can't do the booking without a 2 night minimum stay. I said Well I already stayed 1 night and now I'm booking another one, whats the problem?
They insisted that the only way to get the room was to book for that night, when i wouldn't be there. Having other pressing things to do, I relented and moved on. They said feel free to keep stuff here if you need to.
I left town and came back the next day and went up to my room. The key didn't work so I had to go all the way down to the front desk and get a new one. They said Oh we changed your room. I said You changed my room? You really mean you double booked my room, charging me and someone else?
What a scam!
They got caught red handed and had no shame. They didn't offer anything. After a while the manager sheepishly offered a $25 food and beverage credit, which I didn't end up using.
Bush league.
On top of that, there was a random gift of a bottle of water and popcorn for a "Mr. Smith" in my room. How personal ...
Other points - their morning coffee situation was
a mess and they ran out of coffee and didn't refresh it. What a joke
I expect to be in town many times over the next year as will many colleagues. We are all not staying in the Kimpton. Next time, the Fairmont.
