| - Stumbled upon a new favorite!
Omoide (???, Japanese for "memories") is perfectly located on Rainbow blvd. to catch our attention enough to draw us in. We were actually on the way to another spot, and because I don't often find myself in this part of town, I just had to try.
Once inside, the center ceiling lights will catch your eye, then you look around and now find yourself outside a Japanese village. From the building designs on the wall, the windows decorated like awnings, and the seated-bar section like a street cart, the interior decor is beautifully crafted atmosphere.
Like the name says, they serve poke bowls and variations of Japanese noodles. Today I'm having an appetizer with ramen. Next time I need to try the poke, or even the udon or soba (which are two of my other favorite Japanese noodles, not found often in Vegas).
Karaage ($5.50) - Japanese-style fried chicken bites. Great but a little thin on the fry imo.
Tonkotsu ($7.50) - a classic bowl which every ramen spot offers. Omoide's version nails it. Thin noodles, flavorful broth, no overwheming oil, and compared to other ramen joints, at a good price.
The end result was a delicious experience by means of a surprising stumble. I'm glad I found this place. When I'm back in the area, I want to go straight to Omoide.
