I had been wanting to try this place after reading the reviews, so I stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. 12 noon and I am the 9th person in the entire place (2 at the bar and 8 in the dining area). The bartender greeted me promptly but I had to ask her for a beer options menu because I did not see any taps (they were around the corner). I ordered the "cowboy BBQ" burger and a draft.
I was going to watch some sports on the TVs but they had two channels on: The Toby Keith Bar channel which only ran ads about the restaurant and the Discovery channel. No sports.
The hamburger arrived and it was only warm, not hot and the fries were barely warm; it had obviously sat on the shelf for awhile in the kitchen until someone remembered to bring it out (and a reminder; only 9 customers in the place).
Another server came up a few feet away from me and proceeded to tell my server in a loud voice how drunk and stupid she got last night; this was way too much information when I am trying to enjoy my mediocre lunch.
Then I saw the the TV ads talked about the "club" that you join and you get a free meal on your birthday plus other specials. It stated to download the app onto your smartphone. I tried that; no app. So I asked my server and she said that Toby Keith's had stopped that promotion months ago because they were losing too much money. She also said they simply had not changed the ads so everybody keeps asking her about the "club".
Summary: I am not impressed. With only 9 customers my food should have been to me piping hot, there should be some sports on the TVs, the servers should keep their personal lives quiet and if you have changed your "Club" policy then change the ads! Every other month I get a coupon via e-mail from TGI Friday's offering 25% off your entire table meal cost. Now that's a "customer loyalty" program which keeps me coming back to spend money with them, and you earn points for free meals.
PS: The server told me that they are going to close for lunch Mon-Fri due to the lack of business.
