| - No trip to Vegas is complete without a Trip to the Strip (club), right?
On the last night of our short stay, we tore it up....we started the evening with drinks and dinner, then saw Rock of Ages, walked around a bit and decided it was time to see some half naked chicks.
We took a taxi, not a "free" limo sent by the club. When we arrived and waited in a short line, and then had to pay $90 to get in, I was irritated. I even said on the way there, that there's no way I am paying to get in, I am a chick! I seriously HATE any strip club that charges women to get in. Bad marketing. However, at this time we were fully committed to going in, we already paid a taxi, etc. So whatever. And the girl at the front desk made sure to tell me "It's worth it!"
Really? Because it wasn't.
The only thing that WASN'T a rip off, were the lap dances. Those $20 dances were worth it, from our girl of choice who was super nice and pretty, not gross or dirty or all drugged out.
I've seen better talent at the Main Attraction in Oceanside, On Stage. The girls on stage were consistently awful. Don't get me wrong, I know it's not a job I'd ever do, but if this is the job you choose, at least put some effort into it.
The waitress was also nice, but paying the bill was a ridiculous clusterfuck. Not only did we get upgraded without asking, to the most expensive alcohols, but we were overcharged by at least one drink (if you check in on Yelp you are supposed to get a free shot...I got a thimble of what was probably a Kamikaze, and it was on the bill for $16), and then the way they run the system with credit cards is a complete joke. They keep running your card for $100 every so often, which I understand, they need to know you can pay when you leave. BUT most banks are pretty strict now, and of course the card we were using, was then flagged by our bank for fraudulent activity. No way to get that unflagged at the time. If we didn't have another card, what were we going to do? Wash dishes?
So we pull out another card, which is my debit card. Of course it's also a Visa. So she asks if its debit, and if so I have to go to the bar and pay in person and put in my pin#. I told her to just run it as credit, and she said that if it's a debit card, even if there's a credit card logo, they have to run it as debit. WTF? Makes no sense. Even at the gas station I can choose to run it as credit if I prefer.
And I use this card a lot, so the magnetic strip might be starting to wear off, and they apparently don't have the new Chip machines. So, they can't run my card, it won't register on their system. And they can't manually type in the numbers, I was told.
So, we pull out ANOTHER card and use this one, finally. Seriously why have people run their cards at the bar? So many people use cards that are debit but have a MasterCard or Visa logo, it's common. It just was super frustrating after being there for a few hours to go through all this bullshit to try and pay for a very, very padded bill (no point in arguing this, we know better, there's no way to prove what you ordered or not and they depend on people being drunk, which we were, but not too drunk to be able to count how many drinks we had). Also, I am sure very frustrating for the girls working there....we had 2 waitresses and a bartender trying to pay out our tab.
All that at the end of the night sent us off slightly pissed off, it was a hassle. And we spent a grip of money. So it would have been nice to leave on a good note, but we were just over it. by then.
We will probably not go back to Sapphire when we're in Vegas next time.
