  • We checked in on Tuesday in the late afternoon. The parking structure was mostly empty. That was a bad sign. We unpacked and went out to grab a bite to eat. When we returned, I noticed that the parking structure was dark... really dark! It was like a scene from a horror movie. That's not good when the back side of the property butts up against a very bad neighborhood, which has access to the parking structure as well. When we went back to our room, my wife noticed that her Galaxy S8 charger was missing. We initially dismissed it as perhaps she had forgotten it at home. When we returned home, it was confirmed that she took it with her. I called (on Thursday) to report the incident, and spoke with security Josh Grant. He asked me why I waited until we got home to report the incident. I didn't want to initiate an investigation over a charger until we got home to confirm that it was missing. Let's just say I did initiate an investigation, would he have asked how can we be so sure that we did not leave it at home? It has been a week since we submitted a written report via email. Not until now after I emailed him earlier this morning did I receive this: "Guest property loss reports are only completed as a courtesy to the guest for their insurance purposes. Lucky Dragon does not assume any liability for the loss of said property, as per the Innkeeper's Statute. An investigation will generally take five (5) days to complete. At the conclusion of the five day period, the guest is welcome to contact the Director of Security/Risk Management with respect to the findings. Office number: 702-889-7107 Compensation will only be awarded if the investigation determines the actions of a Lucky Dragon employee were a contributing factor to the loss. Only under those circumstances, will a representative from Lucky Dragon initiate contact with the guest." Let that sink in. There was a possibility that someone other than housekeeping has entered our room, and it is low on their priority. Let's say it was a housekeeper. They have electronic locks on their doors. I'm sure that a housekeeper entering a room in the late afternoon/early evening would be noticeable on the security camera or recorded by their security system. I remembered staying at a hotel in Vegas with similar locks, and the door was locked but the deadbolt was not engaged. Their security department called me to asked me to engage the deadbolt! The same night, right after I told my daughter to deadbolt lock the door, it sounded like someone was trying to open the door. We thought maybe it was a guest who tried to open the wrong door. We did not think the two incidents were related until we got home. If you think this is a typical casino on the strip, think again. There's no sportsbook and no American table games such as blackjack, craps, etc. Oh.... and the pool!!! LOL. It's SMALL! On Wednesday, when we were leaving to visit the other casinos, I noticed that the Chinese game dealers were fanning themselves with pamphlets. I thought to myself: do they have to resort to lowering the thermostat to save money? When we returned later, I found out later that the air conditioner was not working! When I pressed the front desk if they can compensate us, we were given resort fee credit. Around $30 for resort fee. LOL. We were going to leave that night if the air conditioner did not come back on. Well, we'll just dismiss it to live and learn. We're staying away. If you need to save $20-30/night, don't even consider this place. It's not worth the risk. Save up the additional money and stay at a nicer place.
