  • Treat yo self! What better way to celebrate Treat Yo Self Day than to get a nice relaxing spa treatment? (Watch Parks and Recreation if you don't know about this glorious day) We saw an excellent deal on Travelzoo for the VH Spa which included a 60 minute treatment (Massage or facial), access to the spa and pool, beverage of choice (Champagne, wine, or bottled water) and 2 guest passes for a future visit to the pool and cabanas for $99. While it was pretty easy for me to find the hotel, it was hard for me to find the self-parking area. I pulled into the valet area and asked where it was, and the friendly valet mentioned that valet is free for people using the spa if you get your ticket validated. Not wanting to potentially get lost and be late for my appointment, I went ahead and used the valet instead of self-park. I still would have preferred to self park my car though had I been able to find the lot. The spa is on the 2nd floor of the hotel and is easy to find once you take the elevator. At the front desk area there was a station for hot tea with the most adorable looking tea packets. The pleasant front desk attendant gave me the tour of the facilities which include a large sauna, locker rooms, 2 showers and a comfy lounging area. My robe and sandals was in the locker and there were 2 hooks and a hanger which I thought was a nice touch. The robe was very silky soft and comfortable but one minor thing I would have liked would be to have pockets in my robe. My therapist was Val and she was excellent. She provided the perfect amount of pressure for my messed up muscles (You know you have issues when your massage therapist proclaims "My goodness!" while working on your back) and the stretching techniques she used really helped relieve a lot of tension. I felt like Jell-O afterwards, especially since we tried out the sauna after our massage appointments for further muscle relaxation. Our beverages were given to us after the treatment. I tried a little of the wine which was a pretty good Chardonnay. When you check out there is a $25 tip to pay for Travelzoo customers. I thought this was fair considering that's about how much I've tipped for similar massage services at other spas. Each of us received a hand written note from our therapists thanking us for coming. I was also impressed by the products they have here for sale. I ended up getting an additional lipstick that is cruelty free, paraben free and with SPF 15. Those are so hard to find so I was excited to see it for sale. Validation for parking was easy at check out and the valet was swift at getting our cars back to us. They do have some mid week specials that are very tempting and on our thank you cards were a discount for 15% off your next service so I might have to indulge in more spa services in the near future!
