  • I knew my friend and I would be in Las Vegas, so I posed the question in Yelp talking 'Best Ice Cream in Las Vegas.' (http://www.yelp.com/topic/las-vegas-best-ice-cream-in-vegas#anco4JVwcTHDttkHo8dlgA) In the link provided I was also looking for a place that was in between the Strip and Downtown where our Hotel was located. I really wanted to surprise my friend with a little local favorite. We are both fans of Ice Cream & frozen Yogurt. The response to my question was overwhelming and the overwhelming response was to give 'Luv-It' a shot. Soon after 'Luv-It' kept coming up as an answer I began researching the establishment and discovered it was not Ice Cream nor Frozen Yogurt but Frozen Custard. I have never tried frozen custard and to my knowledge neither did my friend, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. My friend and I left the Monte Carlo after seeing the Blue Man Group and headed North on Las Vegas Blvd. The drive took us about 10-15 minutes but we were headed in the right direction. I must have driven past this place at least 40-50 times and never knew it was here. This is hard to imagine seeing how it is literally on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd & E. Oakey Blvd. The night we arrived the winds were really blowing hard and it was quite cold for us Southern California folk. We pulled into the parking lot of 'Luv-It' and initially thought they were closed, luckily for us they were not. Luv-It is 'cash' & 'walk-up' service only. My friend and I advised the cashier that we read about 'Luv-It' on Yelp and that this was our first time here. The cashier suggested we try the 'Western' Sundae. My friend ordered the 'Western,' I went old school Chocolate & Vanilla with chocolate jimmies. I thought I had experienced the top level of the food chain when it comes to Ice Cream & frozen Yogurt but I had not!!!!!! Luv-It hands down is the best Ice Cream, frozen Yogurt and now custard that I have ever tasted. My friend 'Western' sundae was mouthwatering; I definitely made a mistake by ordering something as simple as chocolate & vanilla. The consistency of the frozen custard was unlike anything I have ever experienced. The 1st bite was as frozen as the last bite, you could turn your cup upside down 10 minutes into your grub fest and not a drop would fall from the cup. I am blessed and cursed that 'Luv-It' is located in Las Vegas, if this spot was located in Los Angeles my diet would be in some serious trouble. My friend and I loved 'Luv-It' so much that during the course of our stay we mentioned it several times to other tourists and several people who worked in Vegas (i.e. Valet, Waiter & cashier) and they never heard of it which is quite shocking seeing how if you wanted to you could walk here from Downtown. There is zero question, zero doubt that my/our next trip to Las Vegas will consist of a stop at 'Luv-it.'
