  • Given the reviews of your store on several other sites, methinks I'm not the only one displeased with the lack of customer service. As someone who prefers to patronize small businesses, I'm sad to say that it's only a matter of time before Lowe's drives you out of business and more sad to say that it's well deserved. When I called, I asked for clarification. You wouldn't know, Jessica, as you were not on the phone nor were you the one following. The response I got was outlined in my previous review. THAT is why you get these bad reviews. THAT is why you'll never get our business again. It's not a matter of what was initially done. It's a matter of how it was handled later. Further, you've blatantly lied, as did Michelle. At no time did any employee ask for anything to be returned to any shelf. My husband returned items to the shelf of his own volition. At no time did my son crawl anywhere. I don't know many 2 1/2 year olds who still crawl. And yes, most definitely the oil cans were removed from their hands. Finally, this had nothing to do with safety. Per Michelle's own words, it was about loss prevention. According to her, you "follow everyone who comes into the store." Another fallacy, as I was in the store the previous day and was not followed. According to her, "thieves come in all shapes and sizes. We can't profile." It was about some very poor loss prevention practices that no successful business utilize. Want good value? Don't go there. Want good prices? This isn't the place. Want friendly and professional customer service? Head to Lowe's. You're not giving anyone much to work with as far as reasons to patronize the business. Update: After being reported to the BBB, Hometown was contacted by BBB and repeatedly refused to respond, thus negatively affecting their BBB rating. Ya, that's how much their business image matters to them.
