| - My first experience at Isle of You was nothing short of fantastic, even booking my next appointment before I left. This is the place to go to for color, especially if you like to do something different. I loved looking around to watch colorists create art with hair. I opted for a regular color and high/low lights, something very tame at this salon, but done with an artists touch. Ashley, the colorist that did my hair, brought out the color chart to choose colors together and was treated more like a regular client, even though it was my first time there.
When I arrived I was greeted immediately welcomed and advised to help myself to coffee or tea, and if I would like a magazine while I was waiting; which turned out to be only ten minutes.
Although I stayed on the safe side with color and highlights/lowlights, not different colors such as blue, red, green etc., the colors that I chose with were done so well by Ashley, no one would ever be able to tell was not my natural color. I was left with hair that did not look like I was just trying to cover gray; I was left with hair that looked like it was my natural color.
I did have hair envy while there as this is the place to go if you want to play with color for your hair. I was amazed with what the colorists were executing with their client's hair. Rather it be multiple bright colors, platinum, gray, or whatever colors the client chose. I'm ready to go back and have blue on the tips of my hair added, as these colorists would make it look like I was having fun with my hair, not that some I had color lobbed on. Technique, technique, that is what I saw each colorist exhibit.
It was also fun, as the colorists get along so well, making it obvious that they work as a team and enjoy each other's company, something most salons don't have. Yes, many salons have some sort of teamwork, but this was entirely different. They were having a good time working with each other without neglecting their clients, their enthusiasm spilled over to include everyone in the small salon. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
