If you look closely I'm pretty sure you can spot the ghosts of Frick, Mellon and Carnegie wondering these halls. That's the kind of vibe MoF emanates. Unfortunately, it also exudes the somberness of an era gone by.
We attended brunch at MoF for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week. At $20, it seemed to be a solid deal; but to be honest, I'd prefer the $15 buffet at Shiloh (including a frozen mimosa) any day of the week. While it's a lovely dining area, the service is lacking in attentiveness and warmth, and the food is decent though nothing special. The regular brunch price is in the ballpark of $38 (or so I overheard), and I would never pay that amount for what you get. I wanted to love it here, but given Pittsburgh's thriving brunch scene, this one is best left filed away in the history books.
