| - I came here for the Sicilian pizza. It's a huge part of the pizza scene in northeast PA, where I moved from. I didn't think I would find it at all out west so when I came across this place on Yelp, I HAD to go and try the pizza.
It's super easy to get to from 95. It's in a plaza and there's plenty of parking. If you happen to go during the day, expect to see nothing for a few seconds when you walk in because it's pretty dark. It's dated and homey looking inside, as is typical of most dive bars. However, for me personally, this felt like the kind of bar that would be attached to someone's house. I dug the inside and the vibe.
I was directed to order from the kitchen counter; a 10 minute wait. Not bad. I've waited longer at some places. Paid at the bar and the bartender asked if I wanted a drink (declined.)
Got home and finally got to taste it. The smell was spot on what I'm accustomed to. The taste is very similar, but it's not exact. I think it's the cheese. I ordered extra cheese so I won't next time. I also think they might use American cheese? (Shame on you, if that's the case.) The cheese takes away from the flavor but overall, I would definitely have it again. And I recommend getting it WITH onions. The sauce, I expected to be too sweet but it was actually pretty spot on.
Everyone else is reviewing the stromboli, which I'm sure is good but more needs to be said about the Sicilian pizza.
