I recently had all 4 tires replace on my car. When I got home, I discover that the fuel tank just forward of the rear left tire damaged, crushed upwards with fresh scuff marks. This was caused most likely by bad positioning of the lift arm on the hydraulic lift. Needless to say I was pissed! Here's why:
I recently purchased this car from a friend and it had not been running for over 5 years. I had been working on getting it up and running for several weeks and spent many hours on my back looking at all structures and components for wear and damage. To my delight, I found nothng except worn muffler hangers and cracked CV boots, just normal wear and tear.
When I went in to show the damage, the managers spent about 10 minutes in the shop while I waited in the lobby. Then they asked me to join them in the shop and denyed that the damage was their fault. I asked the to lower the vehicle so that the lift arm was just below the fuel tank. I then moved the arm just under the tank and it fit perfectly! Of course they would not admit that they did the damage but interestingly enough offered to repair the fuel tank.
In the end I have decided not to let them touch my car again for fear of further damage.
Big O Tires motto "The Team You Trust" is a joke!
