| - My first time in Vegas and I really thought it could have gone better hotel-wise. I don't know why, but I thought Vegas hotels were more guest oriented . Bottom line: service and staff SUCKED! The hotel itself was lovely and I really enjoyed the decor. The fact that it is done up inside with the cobblestone streets, wrought iron and blue skies were nice.
Location: right in the middle of the Strip across from the Bellagio fountains. Great!
The room: Nice. I had a red room, so a little more modern than the older blue rooms. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was pretty big with a stand up shower and separate tub. The AC for some reason didn't make the room all that cool and it didn't have a fridge which would have been nice.
The worst: my room was next to a house keeping closet, so every morning at 7:30 the banging would start. The housekeepers would roll out their carts and the door would slam behind them every 2 freakin' minutes!!!! The second morning I just couldn't take it and asked that something be done. They gave us another room, but gave us a time limit to get out of our current one and didn't even apologize! I was shocked.
The food: not that great for the price. Actually, it's all pretty much crappy hotel food even in the nicer restaurants. The steakhouse was eh and the service was awful. The asian place was also forgettable.
Nightlife: the club, Risque, also not great, kinda lame. Much better clubs elsewhere. The cocktail waitress in the Cabaret was awful. She did not come to our table once. She preferred to chat with another staff member over by the bar, so don't even bother going there if you're thirsty. The hypnotist show was pretty funny though, dirty humor.
No luck with the gambing. No wonder most of the machines are deserted.
Shopping: no good shops. You're better off going to the Miracle Mile at PH next door.
Pool: The pool was kind of small for such a big resort and it was freezing even in August! The first day, the cocktail service was awesome, but the second day it was non existent practically. Hit or miss.
Spa: AWESOME, but very expensive.
Tower: the wait to go up and get down is ridiculous because the elevators are tiny. The staff running them has no idea what they are doing. The view was good though. Go at sunset or night.
The Best: the spa therapists are wonderful. Their hands are magic. Our first pool cocktail waitress, Nicole, was AWESOME and so sweet. That girl works hard! The best was the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Definitely can't be missed. The view, the food, the service, all was impressive.
All in all, I think next time I go to Vegas, I would stay somewhere else.
