| - We have lived in the Noda area for a few years now, and grew up going to shows at Neighborhood Theatre (across from Revolution) when Revolution used to Mellow Mushroom. Lets just say, I never understood why the amazing Mellow Mushroom left in the first place, and I certainly don't understand now, after giving Revolution so many second chances.
I have never been impressed with Revolutions food. The only reason we would go was for Trivia Night on Wednesdays because it was the only restaurant in the area that did trivia. I learned quickly that I should eat dinner before trivia because I was so underwhelmed with the food. To give them credit, their beer selection is on point, which is all that matters for trivia.
We hadn't gone to trivia in a while so the other night we decided to go. I also surprised my boyfriend when I told him I actually wanted to try the food out again (how can you screw up a salad, right? I'll get to that...). When we arrived we waited for 10 minutes to be seated (we have NEVER had to wait to be seated on trivia night). They seemed SO unorganized, but hey, at least they had the AC on this time. Once we were seated, we waited 40 minutes to get our food! I was VERY annoyed at that point because people who came in after us were getting food before us although I noticed some tables waiting for a ridiculous amount of time get their food as well. When our waitress finally brought our food out, one of our friends reminded her that he had a side salad with his meal. She proceeds to cop an attitude with our entire table, saying "Guys I'm gonna need you to be patient. I only have two hands!" In my head I was thinking, excuse you!! Patient?!! How's waiting without complaining for 40 minutes to get salads and sandwiches??? I'm glad I wasn't the one speaking to her or else I would have gone off. We honestly were being so respectful, even when we had plenty of reasons to get short with her! (You don't speak to customers the way she spoke to us. EVER) So I get my Revolution Caesar salad (which comes with cherry tomatoes, pancetta, and croutons) and garlic knots. I kid you not, I had 1/2 of a cherry tomato on my whole salad, and the pancetta was burnt, BURNT to black! I was shocked! I wish I'd taken a picture. I was so over the whole night at that point I didn't even say anything, just ate around it. As I'm going in to eat another garlic knot, I find a freaking BUG ON MY PLATE! Not just any bug, it was either a small beetle or a small roach!!!!!! I said, "that's it!" When the waitress came over to check on our meals, I started off by showing her the burnt pancetta, then let her know 1/2 a cherry tomato was unacceptable, and ended with the disgusting bug. They offered me another meal after apologizing, which I declined. Of course they didn't charge me.
I have given them chance after chance and I'm DONE! I can confidently say I will NEVER go back to eat here, EVER. And its a shame too, because there aren't a ton on food options in the neighborhood, and unfortunately they are a waste in a spacious, and central location. Their spot in Midtown went out of buisness so hopefully its just a matter of time before they go out of business too! The sooner, the better. Noda can do so much better! In the meantime, if you want an excellent slice of pizza, go to Fuel. Benny's isn't bad either.
