| - Aubrey at T Reid & Company is literally a miracle worker. Sometimes, when you find a great stylist who can cut hair really well, you find they aren't as proficient in terms of their coloring skills or vice-versa. But I am a busy gal & tend to be a loyal customer regardless, so I accept their limitations because I like the person behind the scissors more than finding someone new.
When I moved to Charlotte, in fact, I continued to fly back to see my stylist of 6+ years for this very reason. And the travel cost + her salon charges totaled over $1000 every 3 months.
I found a local salon but was disappointed everytime I left, especially considering the $490-$550 price tag.
After scouring Instagram & reading other reviews, I stumbled upon Aubrey @ T Reid & Co. 1st of all, and this may seem like a little thing, but side-swept bangs are something that many have tried to do for me and haven't been able to get right even though my bangs have been "taught" to lay that way if cut correctly. Aubrey nailed it; they sweep right above my top eye-lashes and are both flirty and fun! In fact, they can sweep over either eye, depending on which side I part my hair. That was a bonus.
But more importantly, her coloring skills on my very thick and long hair are epic. I came in wanting Bayalage or color melting where the top of my head/hair would be more a rich copper / auburn palate and the underside would be a lighter shade, almost a dark strawberry blonde. And this was starting from very dark ash brown. Over the course of two visits (which she has perfected into 1), she achieved exactly the blend I wanted & toned it perfectly for my skin coloring. Best of all, the prices are about 1/2 of what I have spent elsewhere.
And Aubrey, herself, is such an amazing gal to chat with. While I have only known her a little while, I feel like she is a great soul, inside and out. Just check out her own cute hair. Whether cotton candy pink or platinum blonde; whether crowned in braids or pig tails, Aubrey's style should confirm for anyone nervous to try someone new, that she knows what she is doing.
Thanks. T Reid & Co, and mostly Aubrey! You are the best.
