It's still 4 stars, but some parts of the Venetian is really showing its age. Rooms are huge and clean. The design and furnishings in the rooms, though, are an unmistakeable timestamp of the 90's when the hotel was built.
Everything else about the hotel makes up for any negatives. The common areas are spacious and nice. There are many good restaurants and bars throughout the property. Of course, the canal shops are still classic. Even thirty years on, I'm still impressed by how they were able to create an illusion of Venice inside these walls. The miniature St. Mark's Square area still gives me a chuckle.
Throughout my stay, every staff member I encountered was warm and welcoming. I don't go to Vegas often, but I've always liked the Venetian for their consistency of service. One thing I noticed is the sign that points you to where you can catch your ride sharing service like Lyft and Uber. It is NOT at the front entrance where the cabs are.
I was here attending a conference at the Sands, which is attached to the hotel. It was super convenient.
