I just delivered via c-section here and have had such a wonderful experience. I chose my OB specifically to deliver at this hospital after researching best places to deliver when I got pregnant. I have had two previous c-sections and so had a scheduled c-section for this delivery. The nurses and physicians were attentive to every detail and genuinely kind and compassionate. We had only one issue with one nurse and it was immediately addressed by the charge nurse on duty with no further issue. The surgery was smooth and I was able to have a "gentle" c-section which allowed me a clear drape and immediate skin to skin. The anesthesiologist was nothing short of perfection and communicated extensively to ensure I was comfortable and medicated properly. The surgeon (my OB) was fantastic as usual as well as the rest of the nursing and surgical staff. My daughter was by my side 100% of the time and the nurses were exceptional in lactation assistance never once suggesting formula or pressuring me to consider supplementing with formula. One nurse, Joy, was a huge part of helping me through some particularly tough latching issues with the help of other nurses and a lactation consultant. After a especially difficult delivery in 2011 at Phoenix Baptist and an actually very positive experience at Scottsdale Shea in 2014 I chose Mercy Gilbert based on reviews and the hospital tour. I highly recommend this hospital for delivering your child whether it is natural labor or a c-section.
