The Princess of Wales Theatre is the best space in the city when it comes to any musical or huge theatrical play in my opinion.
I was just there today to see a matinee performance of The Sound of Music and it reminded me how amazing this theatre is and why people would enjoy watching productions more at this theatre than any other in Toronto.
First off, the theatre is only 15 years old. It is still relatively newer in comparison to the other theatres in Toronto, but it is constantly being properly cleaned and maintained to give theatre fans an amazing experience.
Secondly, the theatre has a GREAT slant with their rows of seats! I just sat on the orchestra level today in ROW L and even though a taller man was sitting in front of me, I could see perfectly!
This is key because you want to be able to watch the performance and not have anything blocking your view.
Thirdly, they have plenty of refreshment bars and merchandise counters spread out all over the premises. This helps to keep service at the most professional and speedy level.
Fourthly, the washrooms are HUGE and have TONS of stalls! For the boys, this might not seen to be important, but for us ladies, it is annoying to wait in long lines for several minutes and constantly feel nervous that you are going to the miss the beginning of the musical act because you were waiting in line!
And lastly...IT IS A PART OF THE MIRVISH EMPIRE! This means you will always have amazing musicals and plays taking up the stage in the Princess of Wales!
