| - We have stayed at the Cosmo several times and we really enjoy this property. It is mid-strip, next to Bellagio and across from Paris. We choose a Terrace Suite, with a separate living area from the bedroom and two full baths. The Cosmo is the only hotel in Vegas with balconies -- many of them overlook the Bellagio Fountains and have a great view of the Strip.
This year was special, as we were celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary, and after we checked in we were surprised with a little gift from the hotel -- a box of chocolates, designed like a set of books, very cute and clever, just the kind of thing you would expect from the Cosmo, with their eclectic style and décor.
The new owners have made some nice changes while keeping the fun and eclectic vibe of the property. Although we miss the Q Bar, Clique is very nice, with fun cocktails and comfy couches. The new Sports Book is a welcome change for Hubby. It's obvious that they are making an investment in the property and it shows.
In years' past, housekeeping was sketchy, but there has been a big improvement, there is now a consistency to how the rooms are cleaned that was missing before. But I really wish they would put gratuity envelopes in the rooms, as several times the gratuity we left for housekeeping was not taken and we had to hunt them down to give them the gratuity - we want to be sure that good work is recognized! With gratuity envelopes there would be no doubt of what it's for.
The Spa is fabulous, large and relaxing, with great treatments - the Balance & Harmony massage is a favorite, combining Swedish & hot stones, ahhhhhh.....
My one complaint is with the pool area, specifically the Chelsea Pool - while the space is great and the pool bars are comfy with wonderful bartenders, the lounge chairs are hideously uncomfortable, more like what you would find at a Holiday Inn, not a high-end Vegas hotel. Before, all the chairs had nice thick padding, I wish they would go back to the nice padding...
Overall, we love the Cosmo - it's fun and hip (even for us old people) but still with a nice homage to old Vegas, with all the fun pics lining the halls in the second floor - I hope they don't change that!
