| - Patronized the bar last night with a girlfriend.
Let's see...well, the restaurant is beautiful. Nice open indoor/outdoor bar, pretty patio, lots of natural stone. These people just need to get it together.
They had 3 cocktails to choose from??? C'mon Petra, make a better cocktail menu. They had about 20 beers to choose from, however, they only had 3 or 4 to serve. The bartender said they had been busy and didn't get their shipment. We sat down at 7 and were each served 2 drinks at happy hour price? So, I dont know if it really goes until 8 or what? because it is advertised as 4 - 7.
We ordered two appetizers. They took a long time. Then, the food runner walked along the back of the bar seats auctioning the food. They brought us the wrong dish, so we ended up with an extra item.
All the staff just seems a bit confused....no one is sure where they are going, what they are serving and so on. Poor training I suppose.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the Greek names for our items. We did have the spanikopita and it was delicious. Light and flaky phyllo filled with creamy feta and spinach. Yum. The other app was a skewer of beef with pita and tsaziki. The meat had ok flavor but was lukewarm and chewy. The pita was warm and yummy. The wrong dish they served us was the same beef skewer with fries and another sauce. The fries were bad and cold. The steak was cold, tough, and bland. The sauce was very flavorful and unique, but I'm not sure what it was.
The service was friendly and we ended up with a $40 check for 4 beers, a cocktail, and two apps. (plus a bonus app).
This place has excellent potential just lots of kinks to work out. I'd give them a bit to smooth it over then give them another chance with entrees. In the meantime, have a happy hour drink ($5) on the patio!
