My neighbor and I found this place on a trip to the Kennedy shopping center that houses the Giant Eagle. It is a very cute yogurt shop and extremely similar to another yogurt place I recently visited in Mt. Lebanon.
Again, everything is self serve. You can mix two flavors together either in a cone or a cup and then add as many toppings and syrups as you like. The price is then weighed at about $.45 per ounce so like a salad bar be prepared to spend more if you take more.
The lady there was extremely friendly and let us sample a few of the flavors. I noticed that they have the Dole pineapple whip and she confirmed my observation that this is the same style yogurt that they sold in the Adventureland booth in the Magic Kingdom. That was always my go to place in the park since I had wanted to avoid the crowds at the ice cream parlor on Main Street.
I measured an amount which would have been the equivalent of about two scoops and put a few pieces of chocolate raspberry truffle on top. Got it for just a wee bit over $3.00. It was cold, delicious and fresh.
The lady explained to us that they can take any flavor and make smoothies or if you wanted floats. There was a sign there you can order 10 of these for a party if you give them advance notice at a fixed price and you would pick them up the same day. Yogurt isn't as heavy as ice cream so it just hits the spot with me.
They do have a rewards card but it based on one punch for every $5.00 you spend and after so many punches you get a discount. At this rate I have an entire card collection just for ice cream treats!
They have a cute area for children to post their pictures on the wall. Located near Rockefeller's grille in the strip mall near Giant Eagle Top the Yogurt bar makes a nice addition if you want to crave something just a little bit different.
