  • Having and raising a boy requires the occasional trip to the ER or to the doctor... The fat lip or the stitches you know. The everyday boys being boys stuff. But this was a first for me as a parent having to come to a specialist at the Maricopa County Burn center. Trying to keep calm and Chive on with my 5 year old fearless but not invincible daredevil it was a long drive down from peoria. My experience here was amazing. I've been to other local and nearby hospitals and urgent cares with some long wait times and at best "meh" emergency care. Here though, we were taken right in, no wait, did a better job at calming down my boy. Had a TV with the old stand by of sponge bob on and the staff was great In explaining what was happening, what they were doing, and upon leaving how to care for his wound (horse play on a treadmill and a nasty road rash 3rd degree burn in his arm). Doctors were very pleasant and informative and answered every and all questions I had. At the time of this review this is my third visit here as a follow up, the wound looks much much better and is healing very nicely. There will be a scar but it will be minimal. My first two visits , yelp wasn't the foremost thing on my mind. But today with everyone happy at how his arm is coming along, I can sit and write a review. People consider this area of phoenix "the hood"... But he medical staff here was the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with ...
