  • Considering that it costs 22 big ones to get in, I'd expect to be able to take some damn pictures. No, you won't let me? Oh, we'll see about that. Actually, they have guards posted throughout to make sure this doesn't happen. In fact, my exhibit guide tells me that I must check my phone with camera capabilities in at the camera check. No thank you. On a breezy Cleveland afternoon, I found myself a patron at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Pretty amazing, despite my first complaint paragraph. I explored all aspects of rock, starting with Motown, through protest rock, through the part of rock that got a little more funky (1970s?), punk rock, grunge rock, and everything in between. The hip-hop section seems a bit out of place, but still fun to look at. The other reviews will tell you what to expect, memorabilia wise. Just be sure to take your time and ignore the people standing behind you trying to look at stuff. Get your $22 worth of looking in and overlook the hot breath on your neck. I was a rebel and didn't sit through the hour-long movie that starts off the Hall of Fame hall of signatures. I went through the exit, walked to the beginning, and went at my own pace. It's funny because I didn't notice it until an employee snuck up behind us and said that it seems like members of the same band have the same type of signature, but those groups of signatures differ from the rest of the bands. Interesting. You'll have to see for yourself. The gift shop is your typical overpriced corporate riffraff of things I didn't need. I wanted to buy something to commemorate my visit here, but didn't see anything that I really HAD to have. Bummer. I should have tried taking a picture with my phone to see what would in fact happen. Would I be kicked out, never to return again? Tackled and forced to endure Chinese water torture? Had my phone taken from my hand, smashed to the ground, and promptly stepped on? Would have been fun to see what would have happened.
