| - Most coffee places have expanded to offer an ever-growing array of things to entice us, or make themselves a one-stop-shop. Four Till Four is still doing exactly what it was doing the last time I passed through Scottsdale two years ago: brewing coffee, very little else, and creating a space for creatives, car aficionados, and most importantly, people who just want a cup of coffee.
I got the "Coffee" ($3) and I have never gotten anything else. What I do appreciate is that there is a simple menu (Americano, cappuccino, etc.), and that there are donuts so you can get a little bite too now. What made me happiest is that the beans they are using (Four Barrel Coffee) is toned down in acidity, which suits my palate better. Some half and half and sugar is all I need and it's perfect.
There is an outdoor patio with seating for around 25 and it's easy to just wander and look at the 4X4's or other cool vehicles that frequent the place. The owners do a great job at keeping the joe flowing while still engaging with regulars and newcomers alike. The synthesis of the owner's love of cars, an eye for design, and the great equalizer of morning caffeine has created its own brand, and it appears hats are on the way!
If you can get a block or two off of the big roads nearby, this is a great alternative to your morning coffee stop.
