I've been to Connollys twice, and both times it was for a special event being held in the upstairs room. My most recent experience was for a "Relentless Against Cancer" charity event that my friend was throwing in honor of the charity her family runs. Connollys management and staff were quite wonderful in allowing her to host the event upstairs, offering up great drink specials to help lure in the masses. The upstairs room is a decent size and would comfortably hold around 75 people. As there were around 50 when I was there, the room looked full but you could still get to the bar for a drink, which is always a good thing. There aren't many tables or chairs for seating, but plenty of space to mill about and chat with the other folks in the room. Outside of walking through the very busy bar area downstairs, I've not experienced the main masses at this Irish pub.
