  • Thanks to Yelp, Kris, and Happy Lemon, I was able to try a new spot and also a new type of bubble team I haven't tried before. I've always seen Happy Lemon crop onto my Yelp feed but it's never near me. With Elite Week, I got my first taste of this HK brand and I really appreciate the opportunity to try new things even if I did squint hard the first sip of bold sourness. Though it is 'bubble tea', it's quite a different take on it. They use a lot of lemonade and lemons in EVERYTHING. This is not your run of the mill milky sweet black teas. It is bright, citrusy, and sometimes... lip puckering. They do have a lot of the newer trendy things on the menu like Salted Cheese topping, yakult based drinks, Oreo toppings, Mojito, on top of the usual milk teas, slushies, and latte. I have to appreciate how they're doing things different and trying new things. The menu is quite big and different so it's not a surprise it's harder to find what you'd to try for the first time. The space itself is quite nice... though the paint has dried, everything still is spotless, clean, and open. There are at least 6 tables where you can sit and enjoy the drinks. Parking is kinda easy since it's in the plaza just north of Vaughn Mills. Service here was really nice ... there were two people and though English isn't their strongest language, it was clear that they tried very hard to describe the drinks, offer their thoughts, and help me learn which one is sour versus very sweet. I really thought the service was very good and thoughtful. Definitely more engaging and genuine than the many spots I've been to in the last several months. So congrats to them on that!! With drinks made fresh and quickly, we were able to see why Happy Lemon offering is unique to the bubble tea landscape in Toronto. Mango Fresh Mint Mojito - The sweet person behind the counter warned me that is REALLY sweet so I got it at 50%... woooooo even at 50% this was really sweet but I have to admit I really liked the flavour. Absolutely refreshingly light, nice hint of mint in each sip, and sweet pieces of mango & lemon along side the bubbles. Bubbles were a touch hard but not overly gummy and over cooked. I did like this and think this would be great on a super hot day to drink and enjoy. 4/5 Mango Lemon Slushy - Warned that this is unsweetened and sour... the same sweet person was not wrong. I actually squinted cause it was so sour! Yes, bold lemon flavour and a touch of mango but this was just soooo strong. It did have a lot of lemon pieces as well which added to the acidity. If you love sour, this is your drink but I do warn that a large of it is possibly tooo much. I dunno if you could add sugar to this but I would recommend you do cause that was just lip puckering sour! I do like it that it had real fruit in it though. Kudos on that. Just... less lemon maybe lol. 3.5/5 Also thanks to Yelp and Happy Lemon for the cool card to use later for a buy one get one free... I'll definitely be trying Happy Lemon once again and possibly downtown Toronto. Now that I know I like the Mojito, I'll be searching for it! I would recommend anyone to try if you're bored of the usual bubble tea options OR looking for something to perk up your tastebuds with a kick of lemon. Definitely a good spot to try.
