  • Late May 2016 I asked Andrew @ Cox to cancel my basic TV and upgrade internet to Premier because I couldn't afford both and already had Amazon Fire TV and was considering Sling TV. He dickered the TV price down several times and finally asked what channels do I watch. I told him Bravo,HGTV,VH1,Weather Channel and local channels. He then said he would keep all channels the same for 12 months with no contract and upgrade internet @ $76.42-I agreed. I called back twice that same day and s/w LaShonda then Veronica who both verified that what Andrew told me was correct. I had no problems all summer (other than a few channels I never watched anyway) until 11/9/16 when all channels disappeared accept local channels. I called Cox and s/w Henry Hernandez 11/9/16 who explained my expanded service was removed 6/19/16 and I only had starter TV now. He said he would escalate my complaint to management and will receive an email in 72 hours with the resolution, which I never got. I called Cox 11/12/16 and s/w Stephanie in tech support who pawned me off to Tyson/Specialist. Tyson basically told me too bad and reiterated what Henry said. I asked him so after 11 years of being a Cox customer and being promised by 3 separate employees that my channels would remain the same for 12 months and it hasn't, you can't simply add extended channels back on for free for the remaining 12 months as promised? He said he can only add them on at a cost. I asked what would happen if I completely removed cable TV? He told me my service would actually go up a few dollars! It's obviously not about the money at this point. It's simply about the principle of the matter. Three of Cox Communication's employees lied to me and no one even cares. Not to mention customer loyalty obviously means nothing to them. On top of it all, I would periodically ask customer service over the years if there were any cheaper cable TV subscriptions other than the basic one I was on and they would always tell me no-that was obviously a lie because I could have removed Expanded Service years ago and it would have been cheaper! My next goal is to find a different internet service and just cancel Cox completely.
