| - I've used Bell Trans Airport Shuttle Service during my most recent trip to Las Vegas. I normally have a rental car when I go to Las Vegas but for my 7 day trip in April 2016, I decided not to rent a car since most of the time, I would be staying on the Strip. This was the second time that I used Bell Trans Airport Shuttle Service from the airport to my hotel.
After exiting McCarran Airport, I basically walked to the Bell Trans booth and purchased a voucher/ticket. The cost was $8 for the drive to the Strip. I was asked whether I wanted to prepay for return (which would be discounted) but since I would be getting a lift back to the airport, I decided not to prepay. Also, most of the complaints regarding Bell Trans is regarding the return or prepaying for return so this was another reason I didn't purchase a return and worst case is if I wasn't going to get a lift back to the airport, I would either pay the regular price for Bell Trans Shuttle Service back to the airport, pay for a Lyft/Uber ride, or pay for a taxi.
Since this is a common shuttle that stops off at multiple hotels, I allocate 1 hour for the ride. The first time (back in January 2016) that I used Bell Trans, I was dropped off at Caesars Palace after roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes and I was the last drop off on the Strip..
For this trip, I was going to be staying at The Signature at MGM Grand. I was lucky during this trip in that I was the second drop off so even though I allocated 1 hour for the trip, it only took ~20 minutes for me to get to The Signature Tower 2. I could have easily been the 3rd, 4th or even later dropoff if there were people staying at Luxor, Tropicana, Hooters, or Mandalay Bay. The first drop off was to what looked like a dump called American Best Value Inn on Tropicana (near Hooter's & Motel8).
I rated Bell Trans shuttle 4 stars based on it being a common shuttle so I didn't have any unreasonable expectations in terms of being the first person to be dropped off or that I would arrive at the hotel as quickly as me getting a direct lift. I allocated an hour for my trip to my hotel even though a direct drive to the hotel is generally under 20 minutes. If I were to ever use them to drop me off at the airport, I would allocate 1 hour and 30 minutes to be dropped at the airport and then allocate the time in the airport separately (passing security, boarding pass, checking in bags, etc.)
For my $8, I was satisfied for my ride and wouldn't have any issues using them again if I am in Las Vegas without a rental car.
A Lyft/Uber ride to the airport will be ~$15 from MGM Signature (and vice versa) so depending on how much of a rush you are to either get to your room/hotel or to the airport, Bell Trans Airport shuttle might not be for you.
