I feel guilty for giving Kokoro 2.5 to three stars... because I like the people who work here. We order a fair number of platters from Kokoro for staff events. These feed about 15-20 people and cost around $100. That is actually a great deal... less than $10 per person and the platter can be prepared quickly without much warning.
The quality is ok; one or two steps up from food court sushi. The fish is fresh but bland. The offering is standard: California rolls, salmon and tuna (rolls, maki and nigiri), cucumber rolls, tempura rolls, and sometimes scallop nigiri. Great for events where people don't want to explore new things.
Solid. Standard. Nothing tastes unique. Maybe because we are always ordering the platter we are missing something special...
The shop itself reminds me a bit of a pizza place where you walk in, pay at the counter, get your sushi platter, and leave.
