| - Went with my 2.5 year old niece and old people. It's a really nice nature center, basically a zoo, nature center, and kids-oriented play house rolled together.
So they have a bunch of displays and stuff set up inside, including a giant hollowed log kids can climb in, a bee hive (like an ant farm behind glass), and other cool stuff. Down the hall they have toys and a puppet stage set up. Also they have a bunch of pretty good reptile (turtles, snakes, iguana) and fish displays.
They have a lot of kid-oriented programs and activities. We went to a 15 minute show in the planetarium for 0-3 year olds based on the starry night. It was really good and fun, flashing animal pictures up on the ceiling (constellations) and making their animal noises and what not. Cost $2 - hard to go wrong.
Outside they had a number of animals, including raptors, a bald eagle, a vulture, fox, skunk, turkeys.
Also a nice little gift shop.
Really well done nature center. Can't go wrong for free.
