| - ive only done ashtanga yoga before & this is my first bikram yoga studio that i've been to so my review may be slightly biased.
lets do the bad first .
1 . the smell . do all hot yoga studios smell like how it does here by the changerooms ? the review before mine stating that it smells like sweaty ball sack got it right on ! haha i dont think you can describe it any better .
2 . the studio . why is it so narrow ? why arent all the walls lined w mirrors ? because its so narrow, ive never been able to see my see my postures in the mirror .
3 . no adjustments . speaking of postures, ive been to couple of classes so far and none of the instructors helped & adjusted the postures .
4 . jacket area . we're suppose to hang our jacket right in front of the entrance that isnt supervised .
5 . tiny, awkward changeroom . imagine it with 30+ sweat dripping girls . there are only 3 showers and because of this, everyone gets up while youre in your savasana pose at the end of the class . hearing people move around, and the worry about how long the wait for the shower is going to be, its not relaxing at ALL .
6 . pub downstairs . when you put your ears to the floor, you can hear the music from downstairs .
7 . dont take me wrong but ive seen a few snotty, holier-than-thou attitude-d girls there, pushing people to get to the shower a little quicker without making an apology for stepping on my foot . :( ive never EVER experienced that at any other yoga places . i thought yoga makes everyone feel a little nicer, a little more patient and a little more open minded afterwards .
the goods .
1 . bikram yoga . i think i love it . first 2 classes were sooo hard . i tried so hard not to vomit in class . but i cant lie, im starting to actually like the warmth and seeing sweat dripping down my face . its so refreshing when you go outside after class and your face is flowing & so smooth !
2 . the lounge area . big open space, yet cozy !
3 . filtered water !!!
4 . awesome location . its the perfect distance from king station for after class ! it feels sooo refreshing afterwards .
5 . the staircase . am i weird ? i actually like that dark brown, kinda vintage library vibe .
i really do like bikram yoga . but the studio itself, i think it can do much better .
