  • This guy is awesome. I purchased a home but did not see the home until the final walk through. I'm a part time resident and live in Hawaii the rest of the time. The house stunk but I couldn't put my finger on what the smell was, until one day I put my nose up to the wall. Eww gross, it was cigarette smoke. The previous owners must have smoked like choo choo trains. I repainted the interior from ceiling to floor and pulled up the flooring and still the smell remained. I was desperate and didn't know what to do, thinking I made the biggest mistake of my life. A valpak coupon came in the mail for duct cleaning. I was really grasping at straws hoping something would work. You probably think Dah?! Well coming from Hawaii we don't have such things as furnaces and very few homes have duct work. After getting 2 other estimates which were over priced i called this guy. He was able to give me a quote over the phone which was cheaper than the other 2 estimates. Call me weird but u knew I could trust this guy just by what he said and the sound of his voice. So I hired him over the phone. When I questioned him about getting rid of the smell he said he would bombard the duct work with an odor eater sort of thing. I asked him if he would guarantee the smell would be gone and he said "I've done it a lot and no one ever called him back to say it didn't work". He was able to come out 2 days later and do his magic. He spent all day, and I mean all day. He showed up on time and explained everything he was going to do and let me watch. He even had me climb his ladder into the attic to show me this huge gaping hole in the the duct that was blowing a great deal of air into the attic. So much so that it moved the insulation. He patched that hole and also cleaned the dryer. He treated the duct work twice with the odor eater just to make sure the smell would be gone. When he started he showed me the tar that had built up in the duct work from the cigarette smoke and when he finished the duct work was sparkling clean. Amazing! When he completed the job he cleaned up after himself too. I cannot say enough about this man. He's old school, remember those days where a persons word was a promise? He's honest and takes pride in what he does. I wish everyone was like that. THANK YOU DUCT MAN!
