This is the best cajun food I've had since visiting actual NOLA. I've been wanting to try this place since moving to the Burgh and my only regret was not trying it sooner.
From the front (and even in the bar area), it appears fairly small, but once you enter, there is a large dining room way in the back.
We visited on a Friday night without a reservation, so we waited about 15 minutes before a table in the bar was available. Despite being very crowded, service was fantastic and friendly. The downside was that it was VERY loud. Especially once the band started.
We had the gumbo and rice and beans as our appetizers. Both were fantastic and had a little bit of a kick. The grit cake and the shrimp and grits were both amazing.
My one complaint is that the prices are quite high. The food is high quality and the environment great, but $25 for shrimp and grits did seem a bit extreme.
I will be back!
