  • Abbotts is the sub-contractor for Lowes that installs their doors and windows. They do really good work....when they show up. We have used them for all of the door and window installs on our house and twice they have cancelled on us, the last time just minutes before they were to show up and start working, and once they were more than 2 hours late with no phone call to explain why and no apology when they did show up. We have an indoor/outdoor dog and we always board him when we have any home improvements done so he is not in the way of the contractors and to prevent them from letting him out so he runs off. Both times Abbott's has cancelled on us we have incurred extra boarding fees because of this. The last time they canceled minutes before they were to arrive we explained about having to pay again to board our dog and we were not happy about that and we got we're sorry but you could tell that could have cared less. The contractors that come out have always been friendly and do a good job, making sure the work is done to our satisfaction. The one problem we had with a door not closing tight, they came back and make things right and their labor has a 1 year warranty. I would have rated them much higher, but on our installs, they had a problem with showing up on time, if at all.
