Pretty good! We were on the prowl for quality 'cue and chose to visit Midwood Smokehouse. Our server was friendly and prompt and made good recommendations. We got half price local beers--the Bad Penny is a Tasty Deal--and split the "Choose 4" platter between the two of us with a few bites to spare. With three beers and lunch for two, it was $30 (not incl. tip). A fair deal!
I'm not always a sausage fan, but their version is packed with flavor and nice and moist. I also can't stand mustard, but I swear this version with the sausage tasted like tangy cream sauce. The beef brisket was one of the more tender, flavorful versions I've had, and paired with their brown sugary house sauce, all I can compare it to is Christmas. Mac n' cheese was just dandy, and the fries were hot and crispy.
Hush puppies were well done, but would have been phenomenal with a side of honey.
All in all, a good barbecue place we will visit again.
