  • This establishment in is in a price range I would normally avoid (although I'm not sure why since I don't mind jamming that much $$ into a video poker machine), but my sweet and generous nephew was in town and called to invite me out. I was initially hesitant since I hate to dress up in anything more formal than jeans and a t-shirt, but I bit the bullet because I was hungry and the family was basically shoving me out the door (apparently I was "in a mood"). So, attired in what passes for my Sunday-Go-To-Meetings, I entered through the self parking lot to discover it was a very short walk just around the entrance to the Forum shops. I already liked this place. And I needn't have worried. The seating spills out onto a patio area that basically renders it into a food court, and the other patrons were dressed in styles ranging from very casual slacks and shirts to suits and sequins. Just depends where you were earlier or where you're going later, I guess. On to the food: Crab cakes were delicious, possibly the best I've had. Long ago I resigned myself to the fact that crab cakes were made of shredded meat from the ankles and antennae - where else could you get such miserable, puny strands? Not here. Actual lumps of sweet, juicy meat and delicious sauce. The lobster bisque was probably the second best- old TJ's at the Hilton was my fave, but I had no complaints about this version. And no doubt about it - the prime rib WAS the best both Sugarmarine and I have ever eaten. We were too stuffed to actually finish, but that did not preclude us from ordering some tangy. delectable key lime pie. And the leftovers? The waiter packed them up for us, and we discovered that part of the meat had been made into sandwiches for convenient dining later that night. Or on the car ride home. Or the elevator.
