| - Okay so this particular "Pink's Hot Dogs" is not the famous original one on La Brea Ave. & Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles that everyone has been to. But to have a spot located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip is definitely the next best thing. And if you're craving a reasonably priced and well-equipped hot dog, then this just might be what you're looking for.
It is only appropriate that this Pink's is located at none other than Planet Hollywood. The location itself is actually a small brick-and-mortar building adjacent to the hotel that is visible from the strip itself but not located in the casino/food court area. After seeing a live show at Planet Hollywood (which got over at around 11:30pm), I was craving a small bite somewhere; just not a full-on meal. This is where Yelp (and Pink's Hot Dogs) came to the rescue. I wasn't too worried about the hours since they're open until 3am (on Friday and Saturday nights).
The layout of this location offers a nice exterior sitting area for the more comfortable days and evenings. The inside, however has no seating and is really only an area to order and wait for your food. There is also a small condiment station as well. As many people know, Pink's offers a huge assortment of hot dogs to choose from that come in just about every topping imaginable. I, however was craving something simple which is why I ordered a good old "Plain Hot Dog" (for $4.79).
As it wasn't very busy around 12:30am on a Saturday night, my order was ready within 5 minutes. I had already requested ketchup, mustard, relish, and onion on my hot dog. I think made the 10-minute trek through the casino towards the elevators and up to the 18th floor of my hotel room. The first bite of the hot dog was that amazing and distinctive Pink's "crunch". It was cooked to perfection and the bun was still warm and soft even after 10 minutes. It was exactly as I remembered after going to their Los Angeles location on several occasions.
In addition to the 30+ hot dogs they serve up, they also offer burgers, fries, and nachos; your typical comfort food. And what visit to Pink's wouldn't be complete with a nice little alcohol selection? They serve beer, margaritas, and strawberry Daiquiris. Overall, this is a nice, lower cost option without breaking the bank. My rating for "Pink's Hot Dogs", a solid four stars.
