| - Eton has a lot of options when it comes to good quality, upscale shopping and restaurant. Some of my favorites include Pacific East, B Spot, Paladar, and Taza for food, and Free People and Sur La Table for shopping. I like that they also have a Barnes and Noble, which feels like one of the last bookstores in the area! It is also home to the only Trader Joe's on the East Side. And ever since the Apple Store moved here from Legacy Village, Eton has become even more of a bustling shopping area.
The major flaw in Eton is that the layout is a bit haphazard. Since most of the restaurants and shops were added over the years through remodels, there are big-box chain stores on the outside, with no doors to the inner mall, and small boutiques on the inside the mall, which aren't visible from the outside. Because of this, the inside of the mall is always very empty, which feels like a waste because the outside is always very popular! Also, it becomes difficult to find parking here if you come during lunch or dinner time, so come a bit early because you will find yourself circling the lot for a while!
