  • Very unimpressed with this hotel. Being so close to Pearson airport and the 401 highway they are in a location with many hotel options, yet this one does nothing to appeal itself to the guest other than offering free over-night parking. To start, the front desk staff are full of clichés checking you in without sounding sincere. I could deal with that, but the rest of my experience just made this frustratingly annoying. They charged an extra $85 dollars more than my reserved rate to my credit card "in case I damage the room", which they said they would refund after checkout once they've inspected the room. I was not happy with this and said it was unacceptable. The front desk said too bad, that's their policy and they make no effort to tell you they're doing it! I asked to speak to a manager, but he refused to come see me. So now I was stuck with an inappropriate excess charge to my credit card. To add to the poor standard, I tried to order room service, but they never answered. The front desk picked up and said they would get the server to call me back. Not surprisingly they never did! After half an hour waiting and trying to speak to someone in room service I gave up and walked down the street to get a burger from elsewhere! Then there's their wi-fi. Boy is it slow! It's impossible to watch anything on YouTube or the like, and even simple things like email or Facebook take a very long time to load. The rooms are tired looking, and although they have a coffee maker, the amount they give you is pitiful. They offer breakfast, but this doesn't start service until 6.30am, not even if you pre-order room delivery. Which is totally useless if you have to be at the airport for an early flight. The T.V. is basic with some limited channels, or you can pay $16.99 to watch a movie on their small screen. The remote hardly works, being very temperamental in deciding if it wants to change channels or adjust the volume for you. And for some reason they've even resorted to screwing in the battery cover! Really! If you're going to charge someone $85 in case they damage the room, surely you can trust they won't steal used batteries... Overall I am very unhappy with the experience staying here. My company is due to send a lot of staff to the area for training courses over the next few months, I will recommend that they use an alternate hotel.
