I've been here a few times for a variety of reasons and I've never really enjoyed my experience. The ultra high-end prices are not congruent with the nature of the merchandise and the quality of the establishment.
I'm sure all the associates are fine people, but $30 for a watch battery replacement is just too much.
They came recommended from William Ashley for engraving, and aside from a dry customer service experience that was satisfactory.
I suppose it was the time I came in there to purchase a watch in the $2,000 range was when I was a little upset. The associate kept assuring me that I would not find an IWC or Piaget in that price range and suggested a Raymond Weil.
We made it a point to specifically ask whether Raymond Weil watches were considered high quality and the associate assured us they were of a high caliber--and in a sense they are, it's just that we later discovered that they're Raymond Weil's aren't considered top-of-the-line watches like the brands we mentioned.
Later that day we found a Piaget at an amazing price down the street at Watch Finder. They were selling the same Raymond Weil's for half the price.
..And guess what the owner of that establishment had to say about the Raymond Weil brand? "They're a dime a dozen, nothing special". Since then I've found other watch enthusiasts share that same sentiment.
I'm glad I didn't buy from Marquis in that instance, but it's still a perfectly okay place to get something polished, engraved, repaired, etc. (at a bit of a steep price, in my opinion).
