  • Julian Serrano is now one of my new favorite restaurants in Vegas. We started the evening with a pitcher of Sangria. It was definitely the strongest Sangria I've ever had, but it made the Cirque du Soleil show after dinner much more entertaining =) Between two people, five tapas were enough. First, we ordered the rabo de toro, which was oxtail and pork served over mashed potatoes. This was SOOOOO good, and already got us excited for what was coming. Next, we had the black rice consisting of squid and lobster meat in a nice squid ink/saffron sauce that left the most amazing taste in our mouths. Needless to say, this was our favorite dish of the night, and makes me incredibly hungry just thinking about it! The next three items were very good, but hard to compare with the black rice. We had the grilled rib eye steak, which was actually pretty dry even though we ordered it medium rare. It was a very thin piece of meat, so I understand that it is easy to overcook. I would've given Julian Serrano 5 stars but for this overly dry meat. We also ordered the steamed mussels and mixed seafood ceviche. Both were very good, but again, hard to satisfy us after the amazing black rice. All in all, I would DEFINITELY come back and try their other dishes. We didn't order the paella last time because it takes 45-60 minutes to prepare. Just give yourself extra time if you're planning to watch a show after.
