I was called back to an exam room over 30 minutes after my appointment time. While I waited no one bothered to tell me what was happening or apologize for the wait.
Once I was called back to a room the medical assistant or intake specialist, don't know because I don't think he bothered to introduce himself, came in an announced we had a lot to go over before I could see the Doctor. He certainly didn't acknowledge their lateness or apologize. Since I had another appointment that was quickly approaching (that I mentioned when I booked the appointment and again 20 minutes after my appointment time). I asked how long the intake would take. Funny story...he said he didn't know. He does this all day as his job, but can't ballpark the intake process. I then said are we talking 10 to 15 minutes? He said no, 20 minutes or more. So that means not seeing the doctor until 50 minutes or more after my appointment time. I again mentioned my appointment that was quickly approaching and he asked do you want to reschedule. Again no apology or acknowledgment that I was probably missing work or had something better to do than sit and wait. I let him know that I wanted my co-pay back and would not be rescheduling. Well you have to talk to my boss he said.
So I talk to the boss who guess what says I am sorry BUT we have emergencies. I probably would have rescheduled if one person acknowledged how late they were running and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience, but everyone except the ladies at the front desk were rude and unsympathetic and acted like it was no big deal to be running an hour behind first thing in the morning.
