It took me a long time to get into ankle boots, and I finally bought my first pair about two years ago. I'm now converted. The same faithful pair of (cheap!) boots has taken me all across the world in the last year, and are finally starting to approach the end of their life. Most alarmingly the 'leather' was coming away from the sole and needed to be reattached. Urgently.
I walked down to Ace one day after work (they're open until 7pm on weekdays!) and after some misunderstanding with the man behind the counter (because of a language barrier), I managed to get them glued back in ten minutes for $8 rather than coming back the next day. The boots live on (for now)!
I also needed to get my favourite pair of jeans fixed. I was able to get part of the jeans re-seamed where they were coming undone for $4, and the clip to do them up fixed for $12 (where he had to pick the seam apart and reinforce the stitching), which was ready within 24 hours.
There's no prices anywhere in the store so I feel like the cost for may vary on occasion but this was money well spent for some of my favourite clothes! I really should go shopping...
