| - #126 I had my Philips AS140/37BT dock replaced via warranty. The surprisingly new in box shipment came via FedEx Ground to my condo but since I was not able to meet the delivery spokesperson (or whatever they are called this week), a door tag (DT) was left and I had to call to either get redelivered to the same address (no charge), a new address in the same metro ($10 charge), or a hold for pickup. I chose the latter since I know FedEx is close to where I work anyway.
As I found out the day I went to pick up the package up, the FedEx Ground is at a different location about about 2 blocks north of the FedEx Express (24 Aero Dr NE).
The gentleman, David, at FedEx Express pointed out the orange (express) versus the green (ground) tags and told me of the FedEx Ground location (which I added to Yelp! in order to help others here in Calgary).
Once you walk in, you can either ring the silver bell if someone does not see you. It appears to be a pick up only location. Usually, they require either the DT or the tracking number AND a piece of government ID to pick up your package.
They are open 8am to 7pm Monday - Friday (I was told this by the phone agent when I called in to inquire about package retrieval options, mentioned above in the first paragraph).
Parking is not really a problem as this location has lots of parking.
Yeah, I admit, this is not one of my more exciting reviews but let's be honest, when is a trip to FedEx really exciting? Okay, maybe if I was picking up a briefcase full of cash.
In any event, the Ground location staff are reasonably friendly and efficient, and isn't that what we want we pick up a package anyway?
