| - While we had a great time kayaking the Colorado it was in spite of, rather than because of Desert Adventures. The Service was great prior to the trip. The helpful on the phone, called to confirm the day prior. But the guy we had to deal with when actually arriving and getting the kayak was a jerk. Rushed is into the kayak without, as would become a problem later, checking the kayaks out or giving us the opportunity to. Also, he said that pick up was at 4:00 as we had understood and paid for, but that he would really like us to return by 3:30 at the latest because he wanted to leave early. We ignored him and took the time we paid for, but his whole attitude was terrible. The kayak had not been well maintained and was missing an attachment for the nylon strap on the back of the seat and one of the straps was broken. We had to stop 3 or four times to mess with it and takes fittings off other parts of the kayak to keep things working. Not terrible, but could have easily been rectified had they properly maintained the kayaks. We told the guy when we got back, he appreciated the notice but never apologized. We told him that we enjoyed it anyway, and he replied that this was not really a good trip and they don't like to do it. That there were 3 or 4 other trips that they prefer to put people on, like it was a huge bother to him that we had chosen to do business with them. Again, the day was really fun and we had a blast despite the faulty kayak and this guys attitude. But would have been even more enjoyable had we not had to deal with this guy.
