  • We picked the Travel Lodge since we were only staying there for a day and it had a great location close to everything and relatively good value. Driving from the airport it was just a few minutes drive down from the one end of the strip where Mandalay bay is. The travel lodge itself is right next to the Harley Davidson restaurant and 5-6 walk to the Cosmopolitan hotel. We saw a lot of negative reviews about the cleanliness of the rooms but we didn't have the same trouble with ours. The room was a little dark and the bed wasn't the most comfortable but it was good enough for us to just drop off our luggage and begin exploring the strip. They have free parking and when you enter the parking lot you can choose any of the available spots. Once you check in they'll give you a parking permit that you put on your dashboard. Checking in was very quick and took less than 5 minutes. The women at the front desk were very friendly and informative, showing us the quickest route to our room and where the complimentary breakfast would be in the morning. After settling in our room and after 15 minutes we received a call from the front desk just checking with us to make sure everything was ok. I thought this was a nice add to their service and we didn't receive these types of calls in even many of the higher end hotels we've stayed at. The room we stayed in was the type of room that had a shared door to the room beside us in case larger families wanted to rent both rooms and have them connected. Later on that night the room next to us sounded like they had some kind of bachelorette party and were rather noisy but they died down around 11pm to midnight. We weren't too bothered by it because they ended pretty early and it's fairly expected in Las Vegas. The breakfast next morning was small and simple with yogurts, honey buns wrapped in plastic, cereal and coffee. The check out process was very quick with just a key drop off and signing of papers the next morning. We were content with our stay as we got a good value for what we paid for. We probably wouldn't book this again in the future and will probably stick with paying a little more for a nicer hotel. It's certainly not your high end resorts that you can find on the strip like Caesar's or the Bellagio. I can also definitely see how it could be hit or miss if you got a dirty room with cockroaches like we've seen in other reviews.
