  • To begin with, the presentation of the food was impeccable and decadent. I had the tasting menu with two appetizers, one entree, and dessert. There are 5 or 6 different tasting menus ranging in price from $127 to $455 (I could be off by a few dollars here). My Boo and I chose different things so that we could maximize our taste of this pricey meal. To start, the chef sent out these quinoa amuse-bouches which were not spectacular. They were at least light but there was very little flavor except a dry oatmeal-y type flavor. Not a good beginning but the meal did pick up. Next I had the violet artichoke something something which was very tasty although running up against even my taste for tart. My Boo had something with morel mushrooms which was good though not as memorable as one would hope. The next dish was a white asparagus with black garlic sauce. This was definitely a clunker...very bland and memorable only for being unworthy of such a meal. My Boo chose more wisely by getting a fried egg dish on crispy rice. The egg was perfectly cooked and the rice was divine. For our main course, I chose the lobster with mint and pea broth while my Boo chose the John Dory over squid ink risotto. I did not get any mint flavor in the broth but the pea came through. The lobster was, of course, perfectly cooked but not special in any way. My Boo's choice, though, had a squid ink risotto which was one of the best I have ever had. The dessert deserves its own paragraph because it was exquisite. I chose the sugar boule with blueberry yogurt sorbet and my Boo chose a take on Black Forest cake. The presentation of these and the flavors were absolutely next level. For this alone, most of the price was justified because the skill to make these beautiful creations is beyond expert. The desserts were light and perfectly sweet. I hate cloyingly sweet desserts and these were just right. This place takes all cards. It is in the MGM Grand so parking is obviously no problem in their structure.
