| - I have been volunteering here for years. We prep, cook, serve, and clean up for the evening meal. They are open every evening for dinner except Friday. It is associated with the Catholic religion. One does not need to be Catholic in order to receive their services. They provide not only meals but clothing, showers, lockers, haircuts, and other services. One does not need to be homeless in order to receive services. Believe me, there are many more clients we serve at the end of a month versus the beginning since in some cases the money runs out long before the month.
I enjoy volunteering here. The volunteers are friendly. The clients are thankful, and most will voice their thankfulness. We start the prep work around 3:00, cook, and are ready to serve dinner 5:30-6:30. Afterwards, the kitchen and dining hall is cleaned, and the process starts all over.
If you either need volunteer hours or would like to give a bit of help to humanity, I would suggest volunteering here.
