Got a call from Desert Financial Credit Union alerting us of potential fraudulent transactions on our checking account. We verified the fraudulent transactions and the compromised card was shut off. Meanwhile, our account has been drained and Desert Financial won't charge the transactions back to the vendors until we go through a "dispute process" trough the member services department. Of course, the member services department is closed on the weekends. So much for protecting our funds. Major fail Desert Financial Credit Union!!!
UPDATE: Today we learned they don't distinguish between fraud and a dispute. They WILL pay pending transactions EVEN if reported as fraud. You must then go through the dispute process and it will take FIVE BUSINESS DAYS for the funds to be put back in the account.
