| - Wow! Who knew Embassy Suites could be so chic, classy and seriously cool? From the moment you step inside this super new, gorgeous hotel (it even smells good!) you know you are in for a real treat!
Embassy Suites has an awesome restaurant and bar, with a Social Hour from 5:30-7:30 PM every night offering light snacks and free cocktails (but only 2 as the bartender rudely pointed out...oops!!). The breakfast is OUTRAGEOUS with made-to-order omelettes, a hot breakfast bar with french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, fresh pastries, fresh fruit, waffles, and oatmeal.
We were upgraded to a two-room suite for the same rate as a regular room. The suite was gorgeous, decorated in grays and purples. There was a kitchenette area upon entry, and the large bathroom was accessible from both the main room and the bedroom. The bed was incredibly luxurious, with tons of pillows of all different rates of firmness. Both the main room and the bedroom had a large flatscreen TV with HBO.
My only complaint was that the incidentals were ridiculously overpriced--$4.99 for a small Snickers ice cream bar is completely unacceptable and felt like an insult. In every other area though, this Embassy Suites way exceeded my expectations, and changed my idea of the brand. This will be the hotel I recommend to my friends and family when they come to Charlotte.
